Chapter 2: To Stand Out</i>

“I can’t believe I did that! She finally says; ‘hi’ to me and what do I do? I CHOKE! D’oh! Like a big spaz!” Sora lectured himself and smacked his forehead as he leaned against his locker.

“Where have you been, buddy?”

Standing next to him was a tall teenaged boy. He had long brown hair and had a red headband around his head. He wore a pretty torn up red outfit that looked like it was from the Middle Ages.

“Hi, Dave,” Sora greeting despondently, still thinking about his encounter with Kairi. “Did you get the camera?”

Dave nodded as he reached into his own locker and pulled out a video camera. “Look, Sora, if my uncle catches me with this he’ll kill me!” Dave blathered nervously. “Are you sure we gotta do this?”

“It’s my only chance to impress her, Dave,” Sora insisted. “To Kairi…I’m just a nobody. But after today…”

Suddenly, a bright light blinds the two. They both cover their eyes and Sora squints into it. “Stitch! Dash! Bloo!”

There were three boys in front of them. One was an alien experiment that looked liked a blue koala. Another boy was a little guy with blond hair and wore a black mask. The final guy was an imaginary friend that looked like a blue Pac-Man ghost. They were Stitch, Dash and Bloo respectively. The three were drinking out of a fountain with straws. Kinda making it seem as if they were the weird guys of the school. They also had the video equipment they needed for Sora’s plan out on a dolly.

“Wow! All this is for us?” Sora asked, amazed as he shut off the light.

“Hey…wait a minute…weren’t you in the last chapter, playing marbles?” Dave asked as he pointed to Bloo.

“Yeah, NL wanted me to be in this role too, but decided that after he posted last chapter,” Bloo explained. “We’ll just call it a writer’s mistake.”

“Alright with me,” Dave shrugged and then turned to the readers. “Alright with you?”

“Good!” Bloo smiled, not even waiting for you.

“Mmmmm. Slurpage!” Stitch happily enjoyed the school’s fountain water. How he enjoyed it was a mystery. Since all water fountains lead to the sewers! That’s right! The sewers! (The author gets dragged away by the guys in white)

“Oh, this is going to be so great!” Sora said excitedly as he begins to wheel the video equipment away, but Dash quickly grabs it back.

“Dude, pay up!” Dash declared as he, Stitch and Bloo held out their hands.

“Oh, your fee!” Sora remembered. He reaches into his backpack and pulls out three aerosol cans of spray-cheese. Dash, Stitch and Bloo gazed with wide-eyed awe like how anime characters see something extremely valuable.

“Cheddar!” Bloo howled.

“Cheddar Whizzie!” Stitch added. The three sprayed an enormous amount of cheese in their mouths. Sora and Dave have looks of nausea on their faces.

Dash smacked his lips happily and suddenly coughs, spraying Sora and Dave with the cheese. “Oh!” Dave groaned. “It’s going to take FOREVER to get these stains out!”

“Spe-scruptious!” Stitch licked Sora and Dave clean, but covered in green spit.

“Let’s do this, ladies!” Bloo pulled everyone together.

Soon, at the school auditorium the whole entire school body is there for the announcements. Everybody is throwing making a heck a lot of noise and throwing paper airplanes and balls everywhere. An 8-year-girl Asian girl with black hair, which was in pigtails walked on to the stage and stood behind a podium by standing on a stack of phonebooks. Her name is Haley Long.

“As student body president, I just want to say, ‘yea’ to all of us for a really neat year,” Haley spoke into the microphone.

“Hey, Haley!” Timmy called out from the audience. “Talk to me! Talk to me, BABAAAAAY!”

Haley tapped the podium, annoyed. “And also that I hope you can all come to my totally amazing end-of-school party next Saturday to watch the Oh Boyz concert live on Pay-per-view.” As reply, students cheer for this, sounding like wild animals. “Thank you. Thank you very much,” Haley took in all the praise. “And now, without further a-do, Principal Kelso.”

A deafening silence falls. There is no sound, but the squealing of the microphone, for the students dislike their principal that much. Kelso doesn’t seem to notice as he comes up on stage and begins to speak. “Thank you, Ms. Long! And good morning, boys and girls! You know, every year, on the last day of school, I have a couple of youngsters approach me and say, ‘Mr. Kelso, what can we do to not waste out summer vacation?’”

No one said a word except one student who shouted, “You suck!”

“‘We don't want to waste out free time sleeping or visiting friends…” Kelso continued, not hearing that student.

Out in the audience, a boy named Riku whispered to Kairi, “Say, uh, Kairi. About Haley’s party…”

Through the curtain on the stage, Sora could see Riku talking to Kairi and growled. He closes it and puts on his costume. “How are you, uh, how are you doing down there, guys?” Sora asked nervously.

“Don’t give me that attitude,” Stitch snapped, popping out of a bunch of wires, wearing a welding helmet and holding a blowtorch. “I’m doing it all for you.”

“This is nuts! I don’t know why I let you guys talk me into this,” Dave whimpered, video-taping everything. “If my uncle finds out, he’s gonna go Looney Tuney on me! Whoops!” He trips over a wire, nearly exposing himself on stage, but Dash quickly pulls him back up.

“Oh…I hope this works,” Sora whispered to himself.

“…How about Science Slumber Parties? I bet that’s a good one!” Kelso continued. Just then, the spotlight went out on him. “What the devil?”

Sora puts on a pair of shades and gives a thumbs up. Bloo, Dave, Dash and Stitch echoed it and pressed a button. Then, rock music begins to play and a huge screen rises over Principal Kelso.

“Huh?” the principal asked noticing the screen rising. “Hey!” he shouted irritated. Sora, in a costume like Ryan’s usually attire from the Oh Boyz with sunglasses, appears on the screen with special effects, thanks to Stitch. Bloo flips a switch and…“You better get down from there or I’ll…”…a trapdoor opens under Kelso, as he falls through it! Bloo, Dash and Stitch crackled manically at that.

Sora begins to lip synch.

Sora (lip synching): Some people settle for the typical thing:

Living all their lives waiting in the wings.

It ain’t a question of if, just a matter of time

Before I move to the front of the line.
</i>

The students cheered, Jimmy Neutron and Timmy high-fived and Kairi sat excitedly in her seat as she fidgeted.

I watch you watching every move that I make

You gotta believe that I got what it takes.
</i>

Doing a little dance, Sora trips over a wire backstage and rips through the screen, and tumbles to front center stage. The students scream in approval.

Music: To stand out above the crowd

Even if gotta shout out loud!
</i>

Sora is amazed to see his plan working. Everyone was cheering him on. They had no idea who he was, but who cares? He notices Kairi in the front row. Stitch laughs joyously and tickles Dave of the success. Both give Sora a thumbs up.

‘Til mine is the only face you’ll see.

Gonna stand out 'til you notice me.
</i>

Bloo turns on a fire extinguisher. “A little smokage! Arooo-oo-ooo!” he howled, turning on the smoke.

Sora (lip synching): If I make you stop and take a look at me

Instead of just walking by…
</i>

Sora leaned over into the crowd to Kairi.

There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do

If it was getting you to notice I’m alive.
</i>

Dash hands Dave a rope with a hook on it. He sneaks under the fog and hooks Sora’s belt from behind.

All I need is half a chance

A second thought, a second glance

Will prove I got whatever it takes.

It’s a piece of cake
</i>

Dave gives Stitch the cue, who yanks on the rope and Sora goes flying around the room.

Music: To stand out above the crowd

Even if I gotta shout out loud.
</i>

“Wow! Who is that guy?” Kimiko asked.

Sora grabs a basketball from a student and slam-dunks it in a basketball hoop. What’s a basketball hoop doing in an auditorium? Who knows? As he swings back, he reaches for Kairi’s outstretched hand.

‘Til mine is the only face you’ll see. Gonna…</i>

Just as Sora’s hand is about to reach Kairi’s, the music dies. Sora goes tumbling, finally falling into Principal Kelso, who removes Sora’s shades.

“Hey, it’s Key Boy!” a boy from the audience shouted.

“We’re busted…” Dash declared, holding Stitch, Bloo and Dave in-place as they tried to run away. Sora looked out into the audience and sighed dismally.
NL: And we’re back! In this chapter Sora tries to impress Kairi with a certain…“dance routine.”

Mystery: I got to tape this. (Pulls out video camera)

NL: Well now…this ain’t good…

Mystery: AIN’T GOOD?! THAT’S IT?! YOU MORON! SORA’S GOING TO GET INTO MAJOR TROUBLE!

NL: At least Kairi likes him!

Mystery:…True…

NL: Exactly! I just wonder who called the asylum guys on me…

Mystery: Who knows? (Hides cell-phone)

NL: Well…next chapter is where Homer and me get a certain phone-call from a principal…Read, Fave, and Comment!
